"Feels safe with my data"
I’ve been using Prolific for a while now, i feel good about how they handle privacy. They don’t ask for random or uncomfortable information, and it’s usually clear upfront what each study needs from you. Compared to some other sites I’ve tried, Prolific feels a lot more trustworthy. If anything, those other platforms should probably apologize for how sketchy they made the whole process feel

"Good studies, but cashing out takes a while"
I’ve used a few survey and study apps before, and the studies here are actually good. My only gripe is the minimum cashout amount, it feels a bit high, so it takes longer than I’d like to actually get paid.

"Bonus payouts seem a bit hit or miss"
From what I’ve seen, some bonus payments come through quickly, but others can take way longer than you’d expect. I’m not totally sure if it depends on the offer or the timing, but it definitely feels a bit inconsistent.

"Attention checks seem fair to me"
I’ve been using Prolific for a little while now, and in my experience the attention checks have felt fair. They’re usually straightforward and don’t come across as sneaky like I’ve seen on some other survey sites. As long as I actually read the question properly, I don’t really run into problems. I think I’ve only had one that felt a bit confusing, but overall it seems honest to me and not like they’re just trying to trip people up.

"Payouts are decent, just kinda inconsistent"
Prolific has been good overall tbh, but the payout speed is a little hit or miss for me. Sometimes it shows up super fast, and other times I’m waiting longer than I expected lol. It’s not a huge deal, but it could def be a bit more consistent.

"The hourly pay estimates don’t feel accurate"
I’ve been using Prolific for a while, the hourly pay shown on some studies feels misleading. A study will look like it pays a decent rate, but then it ends up taking way longer than the time they list, so the actual pay works out to be much lower.

What makes it more frustrating is that support doesn’t seem to do much unless a lot of people complain about the same study. It kind of feels like you’re just brushed off, even though you spent the extra time and basically lost out because the estimate was wrong.

"Payments have been solid for me"
I’ve been using prolific for a while now, and in my experience the payouts have been really dependable. Once a study gets approved, the money usually comes through without any fuss, and cashing out has been straightforward. I haven’t had a missing payment so far, which is the biggest thing I care about

"Super quick approvals"
I’ve been using prolific for a little while now and the approval speed has been one of the best parts because most studies seem to get approved really fast, sometimes even the same day, and when you’re just trying to do a few here and there without waiting forever to see the money show up, that makes the whole thing feel way less frustrating. Payments have been smooth for me too, no real problems so far, so overall it’s been simple, reliable, and easy to stick with.

"Kind of regretting using it because of the payouts"
Prolific itself is alright, but I’m starting to regret putting time into it because the payout process is such a hassle for me. I expected it to be more straightforward, but the options feel limited and not very convenient. It’s not terrible, just more annoying than I thought it would be...

"Pretty solid researchers here"
Most of the studies I’ve done so far seem to come from serious researchers, with clear questions and reasonable time estimates (which I definitely appreciate). I’ve only run into a few odd ones here and there, but overall it’s been a good experience.

"I’ve been using Prolific for a..."
I’ve been using Prolific for a while now, i’ve had a really good experience overall. Most of the studies load without any trouble, the platform is easy to use, and payments have usually been smooth and reliable.
The only reason I’d go with 4 stars instead of 5 is that there are some technical hiccups here and there. Every now and then a study won’t open, gets stuck, or the page starts acting weird right when I’m trying to begin, which can be frustrating.

That said, it doesn’t happen constantly, and I still think Prolific is way better than most other sites I’ve tried. I actually enjoy using it and just hope it gets a little more stable over time

"Waitlist took a bit, but it seemed fair"
I was on the prolific waitlist for a little while, i was kind of impatient because I wanted to get started already. It wasn’t super fast, but it also didn’t feel weird or sketchy to me, just like they were taking people in at a steady pace.
When my invite finally came through, everything worked like it should. I was in a hurry to check it out, but the process was simple enough. I actually respect that they don’t just let everyone in all at once. Definitely 5 stars from me.

"My dispute got handled faster than I expected"
I had to reach out about a dispute and thought it would drag on, but it didn’t really... After a few emails back and forth, support got it sorted out quickly. Easy experience overall...

"Way too many profile questions?!"
Prolific is fine overall, but the profile prescreening can feel ridiculously detailed sometimes?! I understand they need info to match people with studies, but it feels like a lot to answer when there aren’t even that many studies coming through.

"Good idea, but come on now"
Prolific is great when it actually works, but lately it’s been kind of a mess. Pages take forever to load, studies vanish or throw errors, and I’ve had times where I get stuck right before I’m about to start one. Come on now, that gets frustrating fast. I like the idea of the platform and it could be really solid, but all these random issues make it hard to rely on

"Glad I Gave It a Shot"
I was a little unsure at first because the study quotas can fill up really fast, which gets frustrating. But after trying it for a bit, I’m relieved it does pay okay and the site is decent overall.

"The ID check kind of threw me off"
I was actually interested in trying Prolific because I’d heard decent things about it, and I was just looking for something to do in the evenings after work. The sign-up seemed fine at first, but once it got to the identity verification part, I started feeling uneasy. It asked for information I wasn’t really comfortable uploading, especially without a really clear explanation of how it would be stored or used. Maybe it’s totally normal and secure, but for me it just felt a little off, so I ended up not feeling great about continuing.

"Not gonna lie, researchers don’t reply"
Not gonna lie, it’s frustrating. I had an issue with a study and messaged the researcher twice, but never heard anything back. I was basically just left hanging with no response at all.

"Works fine on my phone"
I mostly use Prolific on my phone, and it’s been working good for me. Like, I just open it, the pages load, and the studies are easy enough to get into. Nothing fancy to explain really, but I haven’t run into any strange bugs or stuff breaking so far

"I like the idea of Prolific..."
I like the idea of Prolific overall, and to be fair, most studies go totally fine. But the rejection system can be really frustrating. You might spend a decent amount of time carefully doing a study, then get rejected for a reason that feels vague or not really fair, and it’s hard not to feel like your time just didn’t matter.
Support can help sometimes, but it’s slow, and the email replies often feel like they’re coming from robots instead of actual people who understand the situation. It also feels like researchers have most of the control, while participants are just expected to accept whatever happens. I wouldn’t call it a bad site, but this part definitely needs improvement.
